How long does it take to get matched with a tutor?
It generally takes 2 - 20 days to get matched. If you need a tutor urgently, feel free to reach out to Educationist via the form below, and we can try to find a tutor manually.
How can we ensure that Educationist is safe and secure?
Security is core to our offering. Classes are offered through zoom, google meet, WhatsApp and other online meeting apps. Our tutors go through an interview process that involves discussion of core values, their personality, their professionalism, and their subject matter expertise. Parents can join the sessions if they wish to do so and provide feedback to the tutors to suit their needs. In addition, if anything during the classes make the student or the parent uncomfortable, Educationist Tutoring will be happy to help in rematching a student with another tutor.
What syllabuses do we support?
All of them! We are a personalized tutoring program, and tutors create content upon the request of students. Make sure to check out our content section on our website for more details!
How do we make sure tutors are qualified?
All tutors go through an interview process, which judges their skill in the concept and their ability to communicate. For more information, take a look at the Volunteer FAQs section, which details the interview process for tutors!
How much time do I need to spend tutoring each week?
You can do as many sessions as you want, but we expect you to tutor at least one 30-minute session per week.
How do I start tutoring?
After you get accepted you can log onto the dashboard, and find a student under the student requests section on the home page. If there are no student requests, you will not see anything. Remember, you can only see student requests for the subjects you have applied for.
How do we communicate with our students?
Most of our tutors generally utilize google meets, as our program provides google workspace accounts to all tutors who request one. This way, tutors can use special google meets features when in class. In addition, you may use Zoom or any other platform you are comfortable with!
Why should I tutor?
Tutoring is a great opportunity to not only get volunteer hours but to connect with like-minded passionate students. You also get the unique opportunity to help students around the world.
What if I only speak English?
Most of our tutors and students only speak English. Though are program originated in India, we are now an international organization, which tutors students around the world.
Do I have to teach a student as a volunteer?
After you get accepted you have a choice of getting matched with a student or curating content. To continue with the tutoring process you may request a student through the form in your acceptance email!
How do I know what content to create?
Educationist has multiple communities, like reddit, instagram, discord, and twitter. Tutors will be asking for content on all of these communities, and you can also feel free to make a content of your own choosing.
Is there an application?
Yes, there is an offline interview. In order to tutor a student, you must fill out our application for the subject you want to teach in.
What if parents have questions that need to addressed by an adult?
Our team is supported by an adult advisory team who are core educationists and seasoned in their fields. They can submit a request to talk to any of the advisors and one of the advisors can talk to the parents if required.
How can we ensure the progress of the student?
Parents can work with the tutors to take help on what their goals are and how they can plan to achieve the goals. Tutors are passionate about what they do and they will try their level best to work with students to see their progress.
How can I help educationist as a parent?
